Murina – Stuff Galore – Stuff Galore – MUZAI Records have announced the release of Stuff Galore, the newest work from genre-tripping duo Murina, out December 3rd 2021 on cassette and digital services. Taking their name from the Finnish word for “growl”, Martina (bass, vocals) and Laura (drums) took up the mantle as it was “everything we wanted; easy to remember, pronounce, aggressive and a representation of our music.” Currently based in Barcelona, with ties to Italy and Finland, the pair met through Martina’s advert for a drummer on Facebook; as fate would have it, not only did Laura answer but the two found a lot of common ground.

Gridfailure – The Thought Of What May Lie In This Yard… – When The Lights Go Out Vol. III – When The Lights Go Out Vol. III is inspired by classic horror cinema, like a marathon of classic suspense, murder, and supernatural films, its ten ethereal songs placing the listener in precarious, dire circumstances. Joining GRIDFAILURE creator David Brenner’s discordant web of vocals, guitars, keys, field recordings, and more include guest permeations from Benjamin Levitt (Megalophobe, Gridfailure-live), Jeff Wilson (Chrome Waves, Deeper Graves, Contrition), Dan Emery (Thetan), Lane Oliver (Yatsu), Liz Ciavarella-Brenner, Isaac Campbell, Steve Truglio, and Joe D’iaci.
Sister Carol – Murder & Stylee – Black Cinderella – 1984 album – One of the dancehall era’s few successful female DJs, Sister Carol was something like reggae’s answer to Queen Latifah: a strong, positive feminist voice who was inspired by her faith and never resorted to sexual posturing to win an audience. Leaning heavily on socially conscious material, Sister Carol delivered uplifting and cautionary messages drawn from her Rastafarian principles, while always urging respect for women. She was more of a singjay than a full-time toaster, capable of melodic vocals as well as solid rhymes. Never quite a commercial powerhouse, she nonetheless enjoyed a lengthy career and general critical approval.
