  • Two master improvisers and composers bring listeners up-close and personal to the first spark of their imaginations at work, recording eleven duet improvisations over the spring, summer, and autumn of 2020. The music is raw, authentic, intimate, alive, and unapologetic in its passion.

  • In her debut release Some Hidden Treasure, Alicia Waller delivers four original songs that present a wide-ranging exploration of American music. She calls the record “an experiment about the spaces in between.” Some Hidden Treasure weaves globally inspired jazz with soul, soul with R&B, and R&B with spirituals and the blues, plus a nod to hip-hop.

  • Merging the deep, powerful messages of poetry with adventurous modern jazz, Toronto-based pianist/composer Amanda Tosoff leads a hybrid ensemble with strings and seven rotating vocalists on Earth Voices, the follow-up to her Juno Award-nominated 2016 release Words . The album is being released by Empress Music Group, a label and company founded by award-winning vocalist Emilie-Claire Barlow. Earth Voices is Tosoff’s sixth album as a leader and the second to feature vocals
  • The compositions and orchestrations are sonorous, texturally rich, with a string quartet, guitarist Alex Goodman, and guest saxophonists Allison Au and Kelly Jefferson augmenting the lineup. The rhythm section is Jon Maharaj – Bass Morgan Childs – Drums

  • Mikko Karjalainen Fellowship Quintet “Manago Blues” from Fellowship (Eclipse Music)
  • Mikko “Gunu” Karjalainen is one of Finland’s busiest trumpet players, who has collaborated with both the top names in jazz music and popular Finnish pop artists
  • The Fellowship Quintet, led by Karjalainen, is an all star jazz line-up that, on the new album Fellowship, joins forces with Finnish hip-hop artist Paleface. In addition to Gunu, the album also features double bassist Antti Lötjönen, saxophonist Petri “Pope” Puolitaival, drummer Jussi Lehtonen and Estonian virtuoso Holger Marjamaa, pianist for Chris Botti.
