His second solo album which is pure jazz as opposed to the rock/funk predecessor. He is fine company with a couple of ECM leading lights taking centre stage and Stańko bringing along his own rhythm section. Katché brings out the best in his old boss Garbarek who plays with an abandonment rarely seen on his own albums of the time. Wasilewski is the star of the show with some beautiful playing which fits seamlessly with Manu’s multi-layered percussion.
