  • Florian Arbenz & Greg Osby “Wooden Lines” from Reflections Of The Eternal Line (Hammer Recordings)
    • Continuing a professional relationship that has lasted 22 years, Swiss drummer/percussionist Florian Arbenz and legendary American saxophonist Greg Osby join forces to present their debut duo album, Reflections of the Eternal Line. The project was inspired by a series of paintings by renowned artist Stephan Spicher, whose workshop was the location of the recording sessions. Together, across 2 different mediums, the three of them worked to create a new collection, both visual and sonic.
  • Dan Pitt “Ghosts” from Monochrome (Self Released)
    • Dan Pitt is a guitarist, composer and improviser currently based in Toronto, Canada. Along with his formal education in music, Dan has an impressive 10 year background of private studies under the guidance of notable musicians/teachers such as Bob Shields, David Restivo, Geoff Young, Andrew Downing, Brad Shepik, Tony Malaby, Ben Monder and David Torn. Dan performs regularly throughout Toronto in a variety of music genres and ensembles. He leads his own creative improv group, Dan Pitt Trio, and is co-leader of the guitar drum duo, Prophets and Nomads, the improvising trio known as Everdream, and the experimental folk band known as The Winona Collective

    • Nuvole di Carta is my heartfelt tribute to a beloved friend who left us three years ago, at a very young age. A young man very rich in spirit, with many projects he wanted to realize. This latest work of mine is dedicated to him and to his dreams; the title, Nuvole di Carta, alludes in fact to the fusion between dreams (the clouds) and their realization (paper), as if, someway, with my notes I wanted to give a shape to his open eyed dreams.

  • Bocana “Vista La Vista” from Vista La Vista (Self Released)
    • Another wonderful single from Bocana, a dreamy, dark, yet hopeful tale of a shipwreck, entitled Vista La Vista.
    • Propelled by layered electronics and percussion and a driving acoustic bass line, Bocana’s 6th single is a Metheny-esque adventure with soaring guitar, pensive brass and synthesizer framing ethereal vocals from Emilie-Claire Barlow. It is harmonically rich, vocally driven, with layers of acoustic and electronic elements – creating a genre-defying soundscape.
    • Emilie-Claire Barlow – Vocals
    • Jon Maharaj – Bass
    • Jason Jogue – Trumpet
    • Ben Riley – Drums
    • Steve Webster – All other Instruments, mixing and mastering

  • Lionel Loueke “Cantaloupe Island” from HH (Edition Records)
    • HH is the brand new album from Lionel Loueke playing the music of his long-term mentor, the legendary Herbie Hancock. Lionel Loueke is one of the most singular, compelling and innovative artists of his and any generation on the international scene. Known for his ability to “transform the guitar into a virtual Afro-Western orchestra” (Jazz Times), he is a musician who transcends genre to create unparalleled sounds. In a deeply personal tribute, Lionel takes Herbie’s best-known compositions (including Cantaloupe Island, Watermelon Man and Rock It), and creates something entirely fresh and new.

  • John Blevins’ Matterhorn “Triesnecker” from Idyllwild EP (ears&eyes)
  • Strange Winds “Lullaby To A Lost Llama” from Llamas in Chicago (ears&eyes)
    • this first record by the ensemble, ‘llamas In chicago’, is a wacky 38 minutes of magically defying sounds that turn the idea of what chamber music is, on its head. mai sugimoto (alto, flute, percussion, voice), hunter diamond (tenor, clarinet, percussion, voice), artie black (tenor, percussion, voice), brian seyler (tenor, voice, beer can), zach good (bass clarinet, soprano clarinet, voice, percussion), gerald bailey (trumpet, op-1, percussion), and alex massa (trumpet, percussion, voice) combine their novel and radical musical backgrounds to create something that sounds fresh, weird, and thought-provoking.
