- Progressive shoegaze postpunk outfit A Shoreline Dream with their new single ‘Melting’, hot on the trail of lead track ‘Seek To Hide’. Complete with aesthetically vibing videos shot an edited by Ryan Policky which will be on the blog, these are the first tasters of their long-awaited ‘Melting’ LP, to be released in late August via Latenight Weeknight Records.
- New York City-based avant/instrumental metal trio TITAN TO TACHYONS with “Tycho Magnetic” from their debut album, Cactides, which is released through Nefarious Industries. Newly formed the band is led by guitarist Sally Gates (ex-Orbweaver, ex-Gigan), backed by the powerhouse rhythm section of Kenny Grohowski (Secret Chiefs 3, Imperial Triumphant, Brand X) and Matt Hollenberg (Cleric, John Zorn). Instrumentally depicting the realms of surrealistic sci-fi, the band makes use of angular and experimental passages, juxtaposed by fluid grooves and metallic flurries. it’s a fantastic album.
- Recently found a previously unheard live recording of The Stooges from Goose Lake: August 8th 1970 with a great version of T.V. Eye. The album catches the band at their raw and primal best.
- Electronic producer Ka Fu with his new single ‘Anthropic Tropic’ which was released on the 14th of August via Hidden Vibes. The single is the fourth taste of his second album, Heretic which is set to drop on the 9th of October.
- Live techno act KOMFORTRAUSCHEN and their new single ‘Nemo’ also released the 14th of August via SPRINGSTOFF. The single heralds the approach of their upcoming EP, Expander which will be released towards the end of the year.
- ‘STILLER THAN STILL’ is the new album from 5-piece Art-Rock band SYLVETTE which was released on 17thJuly. Dubbed as the new Radiohead, the band joined forces with New Order guitarist Phil Cunningham and fellow Bad Lieutenant band mate and producer Jake Evans to produce the album. Interesting sound!
- Quality stuff from TFS – who never disappoint – a new single called Legal Ghost. From Melbourne to Salford (two cities which seem inextricably linked) and something new from the master of techno The Junta!
- The Junta from a new EP of remixes of his Tech Noir single – that one he did himself and he keeps the Terminator references going calling in the T-800 mix. A new album J3 follows next week. Both on German Shepherd Records.
- I leave you in the capable hands of the The Royal Dave Graney Show from the Midnight to Dawn EP and the exceptional ’68 Babe – which Dave and Clare have been performing on their Stageit shows.
