  • HOUR ONE
  • Dave Stryker with Bob Mintzer and the WDR Big Band “Trouble Man” from Blue Soul (Strikezone Records)
    • After several appearances as a guest with Dave Stryker’s Organ Trio, saxophonist Bob Mintzer (who serves as the principal conductor for Cologne, Germany’s WDR Big Band) had the idea to arrange some of Dave’s music to feature him with the ensemble. Bob thought Stryker’s hip takes on ‘70s pop tunes from his Eight Track series as well as his originals would be a good fit for the dynamic big band. In March of 2019, Dave was invited to Germany for a week of rehearsing, recording and performing with the WDR Big Band, the result of which is Blue Soul.
  • Kosta Jevtić “Chiostro del Paradiso” from Reflections on a Journey (Mistyland)

The musical style of Kosta Jevtić can be described as a cinematic blend of classical, postminimalist and traditional music
  • Kari Van Der Kloot “It May Not Always Be So” from The Architects (NextLevel)
    • -Kari van der Kloot and pianist Jamie Reynolds have been playing together since 2000. They met while doing their bachelor’s degrees in jazz performance at University of Toronto. Kari met violinist Lisanne Tremblay at a party in Brooklyn and had a hunch about her. When Kari’s guitarist had to cancel on a gig, she took a chance, called Lisanne up and wrote some violin parts, never having heard Lisanne play. Obviously it turned out well! Jamie Reynolds and bassist Gary Wang have been playing together for well over a decade. Kari van der Kloot first heard Gary play on a gig with another great Canadian vocalist, Melissa Stylianou at 55 Bar in New York. -Rounding out the quintet, Kari van der Kloot first heard drummer Nathan Ellman-Bell at IBeam in Brooklyn and knew right away that he would be an amazing fit for her music
